Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery merge as Skydance

Paramount Skydance's takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery, valued at about $110 billion, was set to close on Oct. 6 after a federal judge approved a settlement with 12 state attorneys general on Sept. 30. The combined company will be called Skydance, and reported settlement terms include keeping both studio lots and making 30 films a year.
